FRUGALITY

To use resources carefully, respectfully and economically.

Varice, avariciousness, carefulness, conservation, economy, forehandedness, good management, moderation, parsimoniousness, parsimony, penuriousness, providence, prudence, saving, scrimping, thrift, thriftiness, providence...

From The25Virtues Survey:

These are times for pinching pennies.

I don’t have much money so I must be frugal

There is wisdom in economy, and it applies to a personal budget as well as national/world resources

Take what you need, need what you take.

Why buy new when used will do. My own way of recycling.

Frugality is important to me because in these days and times I never have extra money but I am completely content on how my life is going!

This is about not wasting, being aware of your footprint, using what you need and letting the rest go.

The opposite of greed and excess.

Waste is not a useful habit for anyone

Use what you can use, do not take what you will waste.

Its less about cheap and more about only taking what you will use.

Really it is about priority, and taking the things you only really need.

Those who save succeed.

Use what you take, minimize your footprint.
Quotations:

Frugality is founded on the principal that all riches have limits.

Edmund Burke

Without frugality none can be rich, and with it very few would be poor.

Samual Johnson

Industry is fortune's right hand, and frugality its left.

John Ray

The less you can live on, the more chance your idea will succeed. This is true even after you’ve 'made it'.

Hugh Macleod

Frugality without creativity is deprivation.

Amy Dacyczyn

Waste neither time nor money, but make the best use of both. Without industry and frugality, nothing will do, and with them everything.

Benjamin Franklin

It is great wealth to a soul to live frugally with a contented mind.

Lucretius
